This week was an interesting one; I spent 2 days at Queen’s Park and 2 days in the riding at the constituency office. Things have been slow around both places since the legislature isn’t currently sitting. However, there’s lots to catch up on since both offices have been closed for two weeks. The excitement over the Toronto Centre by-election, called for February 4, and the upcoming municipal election this fall have kept us all on our feet. The interns have been keeping busy planning our upcoming trips to Nashville and Denver and London, England, as well as working on our papers. We’ll be starting our next placements in February and have lots to look forward to beyond the trips abroad – incredible meetings, another reception, and, of course, the second OLIP magazine. Over the break, I took advantage of the amazing Legislative Library (which allows you to renew items for as much time as you want!) and read some great books that the Toronto Public Library told me I’d have to wait weeks to get. The benefits of working at Queen’s Park are immeasurable!
