The last couple weeks have been very busy in Rosario’s office. I’ve been all over the place, working on research and notes for Estimates Committee, writing a couple questions for question period, responding to correspondence on a range of policy issues, and a lot more. The major focus, however, has been on organizing a press conference for Rosario to introduce a private member’s bill. This bill would expand the mandate of Ontario’s Ombudsman to include a number of broader public sector bodies including school boards, hospitals, retirement homes, long-term care facilities and children’s aid societies. Arranging the press conference has been a surprisingly large undertaking. I’ve had to line-up guest speakers, write press releases and other communications materials, get the word out to stakeholder groups, coordinate with caucus services and legislative assembly staff, etc.
